Hello, I’m Susie Smart.
I have been a busy working mum, an empty nester, a carer and an executor, and I understand the challenges that each of these roles can bring.
I've overseen major home renovations that have required strategic planning, quick thinking and serious decluttering.
And having helped family members with house moves, including a difficult cross-continental repatriation, I know that major life events can cause us to examine our relationship with our possessions and inspire us to make significant changes.
Day-to-day, I believe that our living spaces can both reflect and influence our mental well-being, and that an uncluttered and well-organised home can be a source of calm and contentment.
I founded Smart Organising to share this philosophy and enable others to experience the joy and freedom of an uncluttered home. Every person's circumstances are unique, but my approach is always compassionate, non-judgmental and confidential.
I am a full member of APDO The Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers, and abide by their Code of Ethics. I am ICO-registered and insured.
For over 35 years I was a teacher, in both primary and secondary schools, initially in the classroom and later as a specialist teacher and assessor for students with specific learning difficulties. I identified and supported teenagers with dyslexia, dyspraxia, processing difficulties, AD(H)D and ASD.
It was a privilege and a pleasure to help students discover their best ways to learn, manage their time and arrange their working environments.
I have a particular interest in overcoming psychological barriers to progress, whether that is procrastination or challenges with motivation, attention and concentration.
I now bring all of these skills and experience to Smart Organising: helping people to edit and organise their living spaces, set up easy routines and regain control of their homes and lives.
If you have any questions, or your decluttering and organising requirements are not described here, do get in touch and let's see how we can help.
